Delete your account
What this is for
If you no longer want a ClinikAPI account, you can ask us to delete it. The Delete account page is where you make that request. It is a request, not an instant button: your team here completes it, and writes to you by email when it is done. Because the account is shared, this is the same account you use for ClinikEHR, and a request covers the whole account, not just the developer dashboard. Before you start
- Leave every organization first. The request stays blocked while you still belong to any organization, whether you own it or are a member. See “If it is blocked” below.
- Be signed in with the account you want to delete. You will type its email address to confirm.
- Anything you want to keep, such as exports or records, should be saved before you ask. Deleting is permanent.
Step by step
1
Open Delete account
Open your account menu (the circle with your initial) and choose Delete account. You can also reach it from the small menu along the top of the Profile and Security pages. The page is headed Delete account: “Permanently delete your ClinikAPI account and data.”
2
Read the warning
The card says “Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Your data will be deleted within 30 days, though some metadata and logs may be kept longer where the law requires or permits.” and “This is the same account you use for ClinikEHR. A request covers the whole account, not just the developer console.”
3
Select Request to delete account
This red button appears only when you no longer belong to any organization. A panel opens: Are you sure you want to delete your account? “This is a request. Our team completes it within 30 days and writes to you by email.”
4
Type your email
The label reads “Type” followed by your email address, then “to confirm”. Type it exactly. The red Submit request for account deletion button stays disabled until it matches. Select Cancel to back out.
5
Submit
Select Submit request for account deletion. The button reads Submitting…, then a message says “Request submitted. We will reach out by email.” The page now shows that the request is recorded.
What you’ll see
- After you submit. A box reads Deletion requested on followed by the date: “We will reach out by email when it is complete. You can still sign in until then.” It has a Cancel the request button.
- To cancel. Select Cancel the request. A message says Deletion request cancelled, and the page goes back to the normal state.
- If it is blocked. A box reads Leave all organizations before requesting account deletion.
- Organizations you own are listed with a link to each organization’s Danger zone: “You own these. Ask us to transfer or delete them first (deleting removes their keys, webhooks and projects):”. Select Contact support to write to us about it.
- Organizations you only belong to are listed under “You are a member of these. Ask an owner to remove you:”.
- There is no Request to delete account button until the list is empty.
- If you have left every organization, your account pages still work. They simply appear without the usual sidebar.
