Compute and Disk
What this is for
On a paid plan your project runs on its own private server. Compute is how powerful that server is (its processor and memory); disk is how much room it has for records. This page shows the four available sizes, the disk allowance and two optional add-ons, with monthly prices in US dollars, so you can see what a change would cost before you ask for it. The prices match the pricing page. Before you start
- Open Project settings in the sidebar, then the Compute and Disk tab.
- Anyone can see the options. Only an organization owner or admin can pick a size to preview.
- On the Free plan there is no server to size; the page explains this.
Preview a size change
1
Open the tab
Select Project settings, then Compute and Disk.
2
Choose a size
Under Compute size, select a card. Your current size is marked Current and “Included in (plan name)”. Cards below your plan’s included size are greyed out with “Below the (plan) plan’s included size”.
3
Read the preview
A panel titled “Change to (size)” shows the monthly price Now, After and the Difference, with a line-by-line breakdown. It adds that the difference is prorated from the day of the change and appears on your next invoice, and that Your project restarts.: it is unavailable for about 1 to 2 minutes while the new size comes up.

Ask us to make the change
The preview is a price calculator only. To actually change the size, select the link “contact us to change size” in the panel’s footer, which opens an email to our team. Select Close when you are finished.
The sizes
What the page shows on each plan
- Free: a Shared card: “The Free plan runs on a shared sandbox. Upgrade to Pro for a dedicated server with a size you choose.” The four sizes are listed for reference, each saying “Upgrade to Pro for a dedicated server.”
- Pro: includes a Small server. A bigger size is charged at the difference in price.
- Team: includes a Medium server and its failover standby. Sizes below Medium cannot be selected. Team runs two copies (primary and standby), so a bigger size is charged twice.
- Enterprise: “Your project is sized with your team. Contact us to change its size or disk.” with a Contact us button.
Disk
The Disk card says “8 GB are included. Extra disk is $0.25 per GB per month.” Its bar will show usage once your project has its own server; until then it reads “Disk usage appears here once your project has its own server.”Add-ons
What you’ll see
If you are not an owner or admin, the intro reads “Only an organization owner or admin can change the size. You can see the options here.” and the size cards are disabled. For owners and admins it reads “Pick a size to see what it would cost.”Common questions
What is compute?
What is compute?
The processing power and memory of the server that runs your project. More compute handles more simultaneous work. Most projects begin on Small.
What is a failover standby?
What is a failover standby?
A second, identical copy of your server kept ready. If the main one fails, the standby takes over so your API keeps working. Each copy costs, which is why Team charges a bigger size twice.
What is point-in-time recovery?
What is point-in-time recovery?
Continuous backups that let you rewind the project to any chosen moment, rather than only to last night’s backup.
Why can't I change the size myself?
Why can't I change the size myself?
The preview is a calculator. Resizing itself is done by our team on request. The panel says “Self-service resizing arrives with dedicated projects”.
Will my API go down during a resize?
Will my API go down during a resize?
Briefly: about 1 to 2 minutes while the new size comes up.
